Obama Wins, Dems Score Big

This will be my last blog post on this election because it is over... thankfully.

Obama wins, but then everyone knows that.  How could you miss all the newspeople explaining how historic this is?  Frankly, if I hear the word historic in association with Obama again I'm likely to throw my jelly doughnut at someone.  I know the newspeople think we're stupid.  Ironic, really, considering the source.

The Dems also won a stronger majority in the House and Senate.

House Dems win their biggest majority in 15 years

That means no more excuses for them.  Naturally, they are seeing this as official sanction from the voters to do whatever they darn well please.  However, it was more likely a knee jerk reaction to President Bush and Co. rather than a whole-hearted approval of the Dems.

EXIT POLLS: Storm of Voter Dissatisfaction Lifts Obama to an Historic Win

Note how they slipped the historic thing in there...  Oops.  I already ate the doughnut.  Drat.

Worst case scenario will be a self-serving round of tax-and-spend socialist-style programs from the Democrats, which could be as bad or worse than the spend-and-spend nonsense we saw from the Republicans.  Followed my more economic do-good programs of the style that helped land us in our current economic situation.  See Why I’m Still Buying.  And typically weak foreign policy.

Or not.

If we're lucky the Dems will will shift to the middle ground.  Here's hoping.
